Durante a década de 80 vários skatistas fizeram arte além dos skates sobre os pés. Love and Guts art show montou uma exposição para levar esta parte da história ao público em geral já que nenhuma outra geração foi tão criativa como esses caras dos anos 80.
Este fenômeno não se deu apenas por lá, já que por aqui convivi e conheço vários skatistas que se tornaram artistas e em grande parte se tornaram músicos.
Na minha opinião o skate é um degrau que com o passar dos anos vai te levar a descobrir um olhar diferente sobre arte, música e também sobre si mesmo. Se você anda de skate ou longboard, continue sempre, se você parou e quer voltar, seja rápido. Pessoalmente eu acho que o skate não é só o conjunto de quatro rodas sobre um pedaço de madeira, é uma extensão do que somos e uma ponte para o que ainda vamos ser.
During the 80's several skaters made art beyond the skateboards on the feet. Love And Guts Art show mounted an exhibition to show this part of history to the general public because no other generation has been as creative as those guys in the 80s.
This phenomenon was not just there, since I lived here I know several skaters who have become artists and largely became musicians.
In my opinion skate is a step that over the years will take you to discover a fresh perspective on art, music and also about yourself. If you skate or longboard, keep, if you quit and want go back, be quick. Personally I think Skateboarding and Longboarding is not just a set of wheels on a piece of wood, is an extension of ourselves and a bridge to what we are going to be.
